The Spirit of Our Pets and Other Things

At last! After a month of various technical problems we finally can post the show recorded about a month ago. Sorry for the delay folks, you know, "Computers. Can't live with 'em. Can't afford to trash them the minute they start messing up!" Oh well enough of this rant ,,,

In this show Fox and Arrowind kick off a conversation loosely based around their ideas about Animism by talking about a few of the spiritual connections between them and their pets. We talk about pets as familiars and then move on to discussions about the spirit we see in many things. We are all made of the same "star stuff" and if we respect the spirit in even the inanimate things in our lives I just tend to think things run smoother all around. If we respect that which is around us it also seems to make it easier to love and respect ourselves. I think.

There is no Podcast of the Week this week as we used the time to remember the late, great Issac Bonewitts. Issac was more than just a mentor, he was a figurehead. I think he will always be remembered in much the same way that many of the other founders of alternative spirituality have been. I certainly will bear his teachings and good humor through my life and will always be grateful. Thank You Issac, May your journey be all that you ever wanted.

Fox has been kind of isolated lately and has been feeling the pressures of being a stay at home Dad and homeschool educator. I haven't been out much or seen many friends. It just goes that way sometimes. But I remember that they are indeed there as I, even in my weird state of mind, am there for them. The cold winter months are approaching. Lets keep each other warm in the embraces of our friendships and our community can be a beacon in the dark world of just how wonderful a community of friends can be.

Blessed Be

I am so glad you mentioned cars. I have always felt a connection, not only to my hobby cars, but my everyday driver. One day it hit me. 90% of a car is manufactured from metal, which is minerals from rocks, which I feel, as you mentioned, have a spirit all their own. So it’s not so “weird” to think and feel a car has a spirit(s) since it is of an earthly matter. I recently sent one of my old cars to her final resting place, a friend of mines’ junk yard. I felt ok, as it was someone I knew taking her away. And the evening before she left, I sprinkled salt water (made from melted snow, sea salt and charged by the Moon) on her and thanked her for her many, many years of service and fun.

Btw, I love wagons too. Have always had one as my main ride or a hobby car :>)

    Peace and Cheers, Chet
